Ashtanga Pravritti ...
is the shift from wanting to change externally to experiencing the changeless within.
"Being a Yogi means being in harmony with everything, and practicing inclusiveness, kindness, and compassion. These are the natural tendencies of a Yogi which we should try to emulate as yoga practitioners ."

What is Ashtanga Yoga?
Ashtanga Yoga, as popularized by Sri.K. Pattabhi Jois, is a rigorous, dynamic style of Hatha yoga that synchronizes continuous movement with specific breathing patterns. Rooted in the teachings of his Guru Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, Jois established this system in Mysore, India, designing it to build internal heat, purify the body and quiten the mind.
Core Elements of this Practice
Vinyasa: Connecting every movement to a specific inhalation and exhalation.
Tristhana (three pillars): Focussing simultaneously on posture (asana), breath and gazing point (drishti).
Bandhas: Engaging internal energy locks (Mula and Uddiyana) to direct energy and generate internal heat.
The Mysore style Teaching Method
Sri Pattabhi Jois pioneered the traditional 'Mysore Style' classroom. Instead of a led group class, students practice their specific sequence independently at their own pace. The teacher watches over every student vigilantly and offers individual instructions, adjustments and new asanas when ready.

Private Sessions
Regular Sessions
Each individual is unique and special, hence Ashtanga yoga is taught individually in a group setting. The progress in the sequence based on the mental, physical and emotional abilities and requirements. Every practitioner has a different pace and that is the way it is.
The initial Ashtanga Yoga sessions would be for approximately 40-45 minutes, teaching the basics of breathing and movement. Later, the practice gets extended as and when more number of asanas get added.
As the asanas get added, flexibility, strength and stamina can be visibly felt. This is the preparation phase of our body to breath more deeply and comfortably. Alongside there is an increase in focus, which helps to balance the mind-body connection.

I offer one on one private online sessions tailored to the specific needs and ability of the student. This class offers a great opportunity to get complete attention of the teacher and to clarify any doubts which may arise during the course of the practice.
The practitioner is welcome to this class at any level, be it an absolute beginner or an experienced practitioner.
I have been attending Sanjana's yoga class for more than 3 years now and have had a fantastic experience. The class is well structured and paced, with a focus on your breathing technique. It is a very calming and grounding experience.
I attend her online class and she provides absolutely clear guidance throughout the practice. Attention to detail and customisation of poses according to my health condition has helped me immerse fully in the practice and I will be grateful forever. Her love for yoga surpasses the physical aspects. She practices what she preaches and shares the importance of mindfulness and self-awareness. Overall, I believe she is simply the best.
